Trick or Treat?

Look Out For Document Templates

You know what a word processor is, right? There is Microsoft Word and there is WordPerfect to name a few.

Have you ever tried modifying a single page of a complex Microsoft Word document that someone else wrote?

If you are honest, you will admit that it is a killer. It is even more so when this one page Word doc has several columns, grids, form dialogue boxes and graphics.

What happens is that the whole thing wobbles and distorts like hot Jell-O on a picnic table. You change one word and it throws off the whole paragraph and ruins the fancy formatting. The pretty graphic image on the page jumps 3 inches down and the large heading changes font to small print.

That is what a document template will do and mark that word, document template, because that is the key to the whole bankruptcy kit puzzle.

Is it Software or is it a DOCUMENT TEMPLATE?

All bankruptcy kits are document templates, pure and simple.

This means that if you buy the so-called "bankruptcy software" from Standard Bk, you are not just buying one complicated Microsoft Word document with many columns, dialogue boxes, images, special formatting and more...

You are buying 50 to 100 Microsoft Word document templates with hundreds of columns, dialogue boxes, images, special formatting, and you have to modify and fill out every single one of them and most importantly, you have to know what you are doing?

That is the kicker!

So, is it software or is it a cleaver marketing technique designed to make you think you are buying software when you are in fact just buying a package of Microsoft Word documents that you could probably download for free from the government if you know where to look?

You would never call a Word or WordPerfect letter or resume that you typed, a piece of software, would you?

Watch out for these icons ----->

If you see these icons on their site, then they are selling you Word document templates, not software!

What an eye opener!

So, if that is what bankruptcy kits are, what is online bankruptcy software?

The answer is simple. With authentic online bankruptcy software, the end product may be a document, but you the customer will never have to handle or fill one out. But why stop at software. This what guaranteedbankruptcy.com offers, but even then, that is not good enough. The often refer customers to us who just do not want software. Why not have all the work done for you full-service by our trained preparers?

You have probably heard of TurboTax, right? TurboTax is an ultra easy tax preparation software. You answer a few simple questions and TurboTax generates every single tax form for you, completely filled out, so all you do is sign your name and wait for your refund.

You never have to know the tax law or what you are doing. You work hard for your money and you do not want the headache of figuring out what tax forms you need or to read the 20 page instructions booklet. You just want to enter your name, answer a few yes/no questions and be done with it.

That is exactly how we get the information from you. You enter your name and address, answer a few questions and then we take it over from there and prepare all 50 to 100 pages of your completed bankruptcy documents, ready for your signature.

That is it in a nut shell.

So the next time you come across a bankruptcy web site that says it sells bankruptcy software, don't be fooled. Look out for the word Microsoft Word or the phrase, "it comes with complete instructions" or the phrase, "we give you a sample bankruptcy."

If they tell you that the "software" comes with instructions, then it simple means that they are selling you a bunch of Microsoft Word documents with instructions on how to survive the ordeal alone.

If they say that the software comes with a completed sample bankruptcy, that are saying the same thing.

One important clarification...

Document templates also come as PDF files and so, if they say PDF and not Microsoft Word, it is all pretty much the same. But do not confuse the PDF in some bankruptcy kits with the PDF output of a genuine online bankruptcy software. Here is the difference...

All genuine online bankruptcy software will produce as an output, PDF files which you can print on your printer. You do not work with PDF files or fill them out. In fact you will not see the PDF file until the software has completed the bankruptcy and generated the PDF file for your printer. In any case, when we prepare your bankruptcy full-service, you never have to worry about Word or Acrobat PDF templates.

With a bankruptcy kit, you are either working with a bunch of Microsoft Word Documents or a bunch of fill-in-the-blank-if-you-know-what-you-are-doing PDF files.

If you have many creditors and your bankruptcy consists of 100 pages, with a kit, you will be filling out 100 separate Word or PDF files.

But it does not end there

Bankruptcy law requires that your information on the finished forms be tabulated in alphabetical order. This means that on Schedule-F, if you have listed 52 creditors like...

ABC Bank Corp
ACE Hardware Stores
BF Goodrich Collections
Bank of America
Citibank
...
...
... a whole bunch more, 52 in total ...
Washington Mutual Bank
Zuma Medical Group
...and you discovered a week later that you forgot to enter,

"Adroit Collection Agency"

You would have to move Zuma Medical Group and its address and details down one step to number 53, and then move Washington Mutual Bank to number 52, and so on until you have made room for Adroit Collection Agency in number 3.

Remember, you are not just moving the creditor name but you are also moving the creditor address, city, zip code, date debt was incurred and amount owed.

Essentially, you would have to reenter almost every single creditor detail from scratch because you are working with a document template, not with software and since a document template is not software, it cannot rearrange anything.

With our service this problem never arises. First, you enter all of your creditors on one small web form in your browser in any order you like and the our preparers will put them in alphabetic order in the finished documents.

If you forgot 15 creditors, just enter them and we will prepare them alphabetically with no sweat on your part. That is what full-service does for you.

Guess what. If you are using a document template and you discover later that you mistakenly left out Banff Finance Company, you would have to redo it all over again and pretty soon, you will be swearing and kicking yourself for not heeding our warning and having a full service company do it for you.
